A Fresh Take on Patterned Paper | Eva Pizarro

Hi everybody! It's Eva here sharing another layout featuring the gorgeous Ordinary Joys collection. 

When I saw the "Stay Curious" patterned paper, I knew I wanted to use it in a different way. Instead of keeping the original design, I fussy cut all the individual squares and rearranged them to create a completely new composition.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Start by fussy cutting  some of the individual squares from the patterned paper. 
2. Arrange the squares on your cardstock to create a winding path. Mix the rounded and straight designs to add movement.
3. Once you're happy with the design, adhere the squares to your background using some foam squares.
4. Place your photos where the path naturally comes together. This will create a strong focal point while allowing the background design to guide the eye toward your pictures.
5. Add your title and small ephemera pieces, tucking it into the photos so it becomes part of the composition instead of sitting separately.
6. Finish the layout by layering embellishments such as ephemera, chipboard shapes, wood veneer pieces, and enamel dots throughout the design. Repeat colors and shapes to create balance and keep the eye moving across the page.

Tip: Don't be afraid to cut apart a patterned paper! Rearranging the individual pieces can completely transform the design and help guide the eye to your photos.
