Stitched Sunburst Layout with Crafted Moments | Susi Becerra

Hello crafty friends! I'm back on the Pinkfresh Studio blog with a bright and joyful 12 x 12 layout created with the beautiful Crafted Moments collection. I wanted to play with color, movement and circles, creating a soft sunburst effect that highlights this sweet photo. The stitched rays and layered circles bring everything together in such a fun and fresh way!

Step-by-step instructions

1. Die cut all your circles. Begin by selecting several patterned papers from the 6x8 patterned papers from the Crafted Moments collection. Using the Essentials: Double Stitched Circle Die set, cut circles in different sizes. This will form the base of your sunburst composition. Mix colors and patterns to keep everything balanced and interesting .
2. Created the stitched sunburst. Lightly sketch your radiating lines and pierce holes along each one. Then hand-stitch using thread in coordinating colors, yellow, green, pink and blue, to create a sunshine look. This stitched background adds beautiful texture to your layout.
3. Build the central cluster. Place your photo at the center where all the stitched rays meet. Then start layering circles and embellishments around it. I added leaves and florals from the collection to frame the picture.
4. Add circles along the rays. Adhere your die cut circles over and below the stitched lines, keeping each section tone-on-tone. This reinforces the sense of movement and ties the entire color story together.
5. Add your title. Use the Alphas from the collection to build your title right below the stitched rays. It's the perfect phrase for such a bright and happy page.
6. Final touches. Finish by adding Enamel dots and a few scattered leaves to complete the composition. These small details help guide the eye and enhance the overall flow of the design.

TIP: To make your circles pop, layer them using foam adhesive in different thicknesses. This variation gives your layout depth and dimension, making the stitched rays stand out even more.
