A Bright & Colorful Take on BooVille | Eva Pizarro

Hi everyone! I’m Eva, and today I’m sharing a colorful Halloween layout using the Boo Ville collection by Paige Evans for Pinkfresh Studio. I created a simple sunburst background and filled some of the rays with patterned papers and coordinating embellishments.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Start with a 12 x 12 inch sheet of white cardstock. Lightly draw a sunburst design with a pencil, creating several rays that spread out from the center of the page.
   
2. Cut out every other ray, leaving the remaining sections attached to the cardstock. 
   
3. Choose patterned papers from the Boo Ville collection and place them behind the openings. Use a different paper for each section and mix the colors to create a fun, colorful background.
   
4. Add machine stitching along some of the rays. You can stitch every section or just a few of them to add texture and detail to the background.
5. Place your photo near the center of the page and attach it with 3D foam dots to give it some dimension.
6. Decorate each ray with embellishments that coordinate with its patterned paper. Mix die cuts, chipboard pieces, enamel dots, stickers, and puffy stickers to create small clusters throughout the page.
7. Add your title using puffy stickers. Place it underneath the photo to create a strong focal point.
8. Finish your layout by adding your journaling below the title.

Tip: Use the colors in your patterned papers as a guide when choosing embellishments. Creating small tone-on-tone clusters keeps a colorful layout coordinated without making it feel too busy.
