A Playful Circle-Filled Layout with Ordinary Joys | Susi Becerra

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a new 12 x 12 layout featuring the Ordinary Joys collection from Pinkfresh Studio. For this project, I wanted to play with one of my favorite shapes: the circle! The whole design is based on the idea of creating circles within a large circle, mixing patterned papers, photos and embellishments to create a playful composition full of little details.

Step-by-Step

1. Create the main circle. I started with a piece of white cardstock and cut a large circle (22cm in diameter). I place this circle onto my 12 x 12 white cardstock background. This large circle will be the base for the composition.
2. Cut the smaller circles. Next, I went through the Ordinary Joys collection and selected patterned papers. I used the Double Stitched Die to cut circles in several sizes. I  cut the photos into circles as well.
3. Look for circular embellishments. Now it's time to go through all the embellishments from the collection. This is such a fun way to use up those little embellishments that might otherwise get overlooked !
4. Build the circle. I mixed the photos, patterned paper circles and embellishments , overlapping some pieces and leaving a little space between others. I played around with the sizes and colors until I was happy with the balance of the page.
5. Add the finishing touches. Finally, I added a few small embellishments and enamel dots around the composition. These little details help fill some of the gaps and add even more movement to the design.

I really love how this layout came together! Starting with just one simple shape and repeating it in different sizes created a really fun and cohesive design. And the Ordinary Joys collection has so many beautiful circular elements  that it was perfect for this idea.
